    Shot group question

I have a CVA Stalker in 308 caliber with a Leupold VX 2 3x9 scope. What is causing my shots to string like this?

bad or loose rings or bases. What ammo? There is some JUNK 308 ammo.

Yikes! That's extreme! How are you shooting, bench or prone?

has it always done this? You may be getting contact with your forearm. Check rings and bases.

You can sort of float the forearm by usings small washers to mitigate contact.

Check those rings and bases for sure.

I'm shooting from a bench with a Lead Sled rest.

It has always shot all over the target. I changed the rings a put a different scope on it. Now it is doing this. I will try floating the forearm.

Actually the led sled causesv this from inconsistent sock flex

I was not aware of this. Would it be better to just shoot from sand bags?what type of rest would you recommend? I like the sled because it absorbs the recoil.

Yes. It tends to do it worse with Tupperware stocks. It can also be an affect of ammo

We are also not talking about a high quality rifle either

windage is spot on , elevation turret or cross hair extension may be bad ???

I concur with others as the stock is likely flexing causing eratic fliers up/down

I had a ruger ranch rifle that did this. Shots dropped as the barrel heated up. I got rid of it and put the scope on my browning and it shoots cloverleafs.

Put a BSA scope on it and call it your loaner rifle.
