I bought a CZ Redhead Premier O/U 12 gauge this past winter at a fundraiser. Got it for $750 dollars and while it is not a Beretta, it is a very nice O/U for the money. I would buy it again for sure but would have liked it in a 20 gauge.

Good advice above, but if you can find a use Browning or Barreta take it.

The new Winchester 101 is built in the same factory as the old Belgian Browning Citori ever since FN bought them. Same chokes as the Brownings too. It's a great gun and looks good if you don't care about engraving.

Just bought the franchi 1049.00. Nothing fancy but it seems well made. Beretta owens them. Was looking at the beretta onyx pro. But when I went in there and looked at them I just could not bring my self to spend 1600.00 more then the franchi for it, for basically the wood.
I sold my red label to a guy on here to by the franchi. I should have kept it and sold my un-fired ar, I will probably never use, and I my have bought the beretta.

SKB 505 or 585 shotguns are another option. Well made and can be had for around $1,000-$1,400 used.

X2 the biggest thing is handle several guns and pick the one that fits you best. I had a beretta 686 at one time but couldn't hardly hit anything with it. Just didn't fit and was having to bend my head over to the side to line up with the barrel.

This! Used is the way to go if you're looking in this price range. Beretta, Browning, Winchester 101, Miroku(makes Brownings o/u's except for the Belgium made models) etc. If you can't find one, CZ might be an ok choice.

                            Just my opinion
