Top model yildiz. Hard to get into anything too nice for a grand. Need around 1800 to get into a browning or beretta

Probably a used o/u for that price point. But, I think you can get into a FN made Winchester 101 for around 1k.

Ruger If you can find one. There was just one in the classifieds for $850

I would search for used Browning citori, beretta 686 or Ruger 101...depending which fits you the best.

This is a better route than buying a new one with a $1k window imo.

A good used one of any of the above, except it's Winchester 101. Ruger Red Label.

You might also consider a Lanber. I don't know if CDNN still carries those or not, but they used to have them for $500-600. I had one for a few years, and it was a nice gun. Way better than anything else in that price range.

I have a Stoeger Super Condor that I payed less than $400 for and really like it. The break action was a little tight but after working it a few hundred times it works perfect and has served me well for about 5 years.

I bought a CZ Redhead Premier o/u a couple of years ago and it is a great shooter. As much as I hate to say it...Gander Mountain made me a really good deal on it. If I remember correctly, it was around $750. List is $959.


By the way... I have seen pics of several Yildiz shotguns blown apart at the receivers. I would definitely not go that route!
