M1911 was still going strong into the 80's as a military sidearm. I carried one as a Rifle Company Commander in 1986 as they were phasing in the Berretta's.

I bought my first hand gun four months ago. I bought a Para Executive Carry 1911. Now if I can just learn to shoot it.

Glocks suck. How many USPSA Limited or Open championships have they won?

I do own several 1911's and glocks, they are just totally different animals.
Strange.. mine holds one more round than a Glock, doesn't jam, and kicks less than a Glock. I always like hearing internet commandos talk about how their Glocks never jam. I see it happen all the time.

Its funny when somebody doesnt even realize what they are talking about, a 1911 is a 7+1 round firearm. Sure there are 3 million different *******izations of the 1911 as it has attempted its best to keep up. Glock actually produces 33 round factory mags so I'm guessing your 1911 holds 34 rounds? A plane jane 1911a1 vs a glock 17 gen 1 as the guns were designed and put into production is what I base my comparison. No internet commando stuff here, I just own, maintain, and enjoy shooting several glocks and 1911's. Also I feel I have shot more than enough of other folks 1911s and glocks to make a pretty fair comparison. The 1911 and glock will always both have a place in my gun collection.

Ive seen you post here before so at the risk of engaging you, I'm going to point out one thing and then not return to this all day.

They are two very different platforms.

You're quote is like saying shovels suck because they can't mow your grass. No a shovel is a work horse, it will dig one heck of a hole, it's great at what it is for.

I had to use the sales pitch. I had too many anchors in the boat.

I love the look and feel of a 1911.

But it's kinda like comparing a trad bow to a compound. Which one are you gonna choose for that crucial life sustaining hunt?

While I respectfully disagree, I can understand and respect your opinion. I feel the same about a small block Chevy in a muscle car. SBC's make great boat anchors. Lol
