M1911 was still going strong into the 80's as a military sidearm. I carried one as a Rifle Company Commander in 1986 as they were phasing in the Berretta's.

I had to use the sales pitch. I had too many anchors in the boat.
I love the look and feel of a 1911.
But it's kinda like comparing a trad bow to a compound. Which one are you gonna choose for that crucial life sustaining hunt?
