How many redesigns has the Glock had since inception? I think they are on Gen 4? In how many years?

The 1911 has been virtually unchanged( maybe grip safety 70 & 80 series) since John Moses Browning invented it. When the Glock is 100 years old lets see what Gen they are on then.

The .45 is like a 9mm...Just for grown ups

        (getting popcorn)

The only design changes on the Glock in that timeframe has been due to customer demand. And they were all mostly frame and grip changes.

Nothing has changed internally on a Glock except they went to a better recoil system on the Gen 4 guns.

And there just as many if not more iterations of *******ized 1911s out there as there are Glocks.

I am a big 1911 guy. I own 7 now in different sizes, makes, and calibers. That said, I had my first glock experience a few weeks ago and I was very impressed. It was a lot of fun to shoot, and handled really nicely. It was accurate, comfortable, and went "bang" every time I pulled the trigger.

When it was time to clean it, the slide broke down to a detailed view easily, and re-assembled just as easily.

I will still be a 1911 guy, but I will not knock a Glock ever again.

Never had a Glock. Will have to try one some day. I do like the new 10mm that is coming out.

                    IMHO
If you looking for a gun that holds very little ammo, weighs a ton, requires hand fitting to replace parts, hurts to even shoot in its original configuration, has really lame sights, and jams much easier than modern designs, I guess maybe so.

I do own several 1911's and glocks, they are just totally different animals.

                        Here's the deal for me.

I love my Series 70 and carry it everyday because it's purdy........ but, when I am headed to kick in a door to run a search warrant with a tac-vest on, my Glock is on my hip.

You can't beat the nostalgia of a good looking 1911 for plain clothes carry, but you also can't beat the mag capacity and reliability of the Glock when facing a potential gunfight.

If I put on the uniform for whatever reason, my Glock is on my duty belt also.

Haven't handled a Glock that I liked the way it felt yet. My 2 1911s are my favorite handguns. Last time I went to shoot with one, it wouldn't run a mag through without having problems.

What 1911 do you have? Is it the colt royal stainless, I almost bought one of those but just couldn't justify spending that kind of coin at the moment. It was a special run of 300 made.

Mine's not special, new model Series 70, I had to polish the hell out of it to get the shine I desired, then I put stag grips on it. I've posted a pic of it on here several times, you've even commented on it. lol
