cw40 here....break it in right...order a couple of new slid catch/release springs...you will probably mess one up when you reassemble.

I had issues with a P45 I bought. I took pictures of what was going on and sent them to Kahr. I ended up having to send it back to them and they fixed the problem.
I'm sure this is frustrating and will leave you questioning your confidence in the pistol. I now own 4 Kahrs in various calibers and they all function flawlessly. Give it time. It's a great CC Gun.

The instructions say that you should use the slide release to chamber the first round and to not pull it back with your hand and let it slide forward (even though all my other pistols you can do it that way) so I followed the printed instructions. Well that was a failure. The slide does not go all the way forward and falls out of battery. I tap the back of the slide and it shuts. I fire the round in the chamber and it ejects and tryes to load another round that is out of battery again. I try to clear the round by removing the magazine and pulling the slide back but the round is jammed pretty good in the chamber. With few very hard pulls it finally ejects the round. The brass just below the bullet is clearly damaged and the bullet is mared. I took it to the range staff at my job who noticed the same thing. They said the chamber appears to not be long enough causing the crimping of the brass and they said the chamber needs to be reamed to elongate it. So the questions is has anyone else had problems with Kahr pistols or did I just get the ocassional dud?
the only 2 kahr's i have personal experience with have been flawless, 0 break in time, first round and everyone after have been great with all kinds of ammo, one was a 9mm the other a 45 acp

Have a CM9 that I switch out as a daily carry and have not so much as had a single hiccup out of it in 500+ or so rounds. Have thrown various brands of FMJ, JHP and +P ammo down the pipe without a single MF.
I've heard plenty of people suggest Kahrs need a fairly long break-in period and I hate when I hear that. I wouldn't own a firearm that I can't trust to perform if/when I need it to.
I like Kahr's quality for the price range. Sorry to hear OP is having issues. I would keep sending it back to them until they get it right.

Well I'd say that's your loss. Kahr makes a great weapon. Most of the posts here show to be trouble free.
You got a bad one. It happens. I've had 4-5 of them and they've been 100% trouble free.
