cw40 here....break it in right...order a couple of new slid catch/release springs...you will probably mess one up when you reassemble.

I had issues with a P45 I bought. I took pictures of what was going on and sent them to Kahr. I ended up having to send it back to them and they fixed the problem.

I'm sure this is frustrating and will leave you questioning your confidence in the pistol. I now own 4 Kahrs in various calibers and they all function flawlessly. Give it time. It's a great CC Gun.

own a couple in 40 cal. and carry one daily. Only problems I've ever had was using reloads after buying a bulge buster die ( I think that's what its called) that fixed it but its easier to use new ammo in those guns and use reloads in others.

The instructions say that you should use the slide release to chamber the first round and to not pull it back with your hand and let it slide forward (even though all my other pistols you can do it that way) so I followed the printed instructions. Well that was a failure. The slide does not go all the way forward and falls out of battery. I tap the back of the slide and it shuts. I fire the round in the chamber and it ejects and tryes to load another round that is out of battery again. I try to clear the round by removing the magazine and pulling the slide back but the round is jammed pretty good in the chamber. With few very hard pulls it finally ejects the round. The brass just below the bullet is clearly damaged and the bullet is mared. I took it to the range staff at my job who noticed the same thing. They said the chamber appears to not be long enough causing the crimping of the brass and they said the chamber needs to be reamed to elongate it. So the questions is has anyone else had problems with Kahr pistols or did I just get the ocassional dud?
sounds like it might be a 380 barrel,,

the only 2 kahr's i have personal experience with have been flawless, 0 break in time, first round and everyone after have been great with all kinds of ammo, one was a 9mm the other a 45 acp

I really think the chamber is not cut right. I called Kahr and their Customer Service guy was very put out that I was having a problem with the gun. Sent it back so we will find out in a couple of weeks what the issue is with it.

Well I sent my wife's gun to the factory and just as I thought the chamber wasn't cut right and had to be reworked along with the ejector. Note to self: don't ever spend money on a Kahr firearm again. For as much as they are asking this kind of thing should not happen.

Have a CM9 that I switch out as a daily carry and have not so much as had a single hiccup out of it in 500+ or so rounds. Have thrown various brands of FMJ, JHP and +P ammo down the pipe without a single MF.

I've heard plenty of people suggest Kahrs need a fairly long break-in period and I hate when I hear that. I wouldn't own a firearm that I can't trust to perform if/when I need it to.

I like Kahr's quality for the price range. Sorry to hear OP is having issues. I would keep sending it back to them until they get it right.

Well I'd say that's your loss. Kahr makes a great weapon. Most of the posts here show to be trouble free.

You got a bad one. It happens. I've had 4-5 of them and they've been 100% trouble free.

I've got a pm40 and it's been 100% reliable but I have heard of people getting a bad one. I bought a brand new dan wesson cbob and it qouldnt cycle...had to send it back in to get re-worked and i spent quite a bit more $ on that gun than my kahr..it just unfortunately happens sometimes...hope you get it worked out!

Had to send a sig P938 back, sent a RRA pistol back...it happens, but I just tend to think Kahrs are really tight. Rack em 500 times with a leather glove, should be good to go.

It happens. I bought a CM9 and love it. Carry it almost every day. You could have bought it instead of the pm9 and saved a fortune. I don't need a match barrel and fancy engraving for a defense pistol. I paid $330 shipped. The cheapest gun I own and it's reliable as can be. Money well spent.

Bummer that happened. Ive had my Cm9 and run close to 1000 rounds through with not one issue. I would try another round with it..Kahr will take care of you.
