Any of those will serve you well for use on a 22lr. I wouldn't reccomend them for serious use on a 5.56/.223 but they're perfect for 22s!

If you can sight in a scope you'll have no problem at all with a red dot.

I have more if you're interested. If I was too put a scope on that rifle (and I would), it would be a 2-7 or 3x9

You should be able to hit a squirrel easily at 40 yards with one. I shot an easily killed an oryx with my suppressed 30-30 with a trijicon RMR on top.... zero magnafication, at 160 yards.
They dont need to gather light. Its like looking through a pair of glasses. Turn the brightness of the dot down so it doesnt drowned everything out and youre good to go.
Red dots are an excellent choic for fast target aquisition. I have an aimpoint t1 on my 10.5" 5.56 and can easily shoot 300 yards with it. Id hunt with it inside 200 for sure. Throw a pvs 14 behind it and it makes for a good time.
Some folks dont care for red dots, some dont care for scopes.... everyone has their opinion.

You can also do a nice first focal plane scope.
Cheaper here...but midway has reviews. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/produ...lack?a=1518633
But they are not cheap.
I went the bushnell red dot route. It's cheap, easy, has mount and light
