    Need rifle help!!

I'm in the market for a new boom stick. I have narrowed my search down to 2 rifles and I would like the TBH opinion on direction.

I am looking at the Tikka T3 Tactical in .308 or a Remington 700 SPS.

Which way would the shooters go?

Both will be shot both suppressed and not suppressed.

    Thanks for your opinion!

More options to customize a Remington later would be my thought.

I haven't heard of that trigger on the Tikka. Are they hard to find?

the tikka has an option for a "single" set trigger.... the normal trigger pull is adjustable from 2 to 4 pounds.... with the single set model you push the trigger forward and it sets to like half a pound to 3/4 pound.

Out of the box shootability and accuracy, Tikka, hands down.

If you want to customize, and upgrade, Remington.

if you have no plans to modify your rifle and upgrade stock, barrel, trigger ... then go with the Tikka

Remington if you're basically looking for a donor action

                        Tikka.

You will be looking to upgrade modify either one. Stock #1

                          Here's my 2 cents:

I have a tikka varmint in .22-250 that I have recently dropped into a Bell and Carlson stock and had some cerakoting done, and it shoots fantastic. Love the factory trigger, magazine system and smooth bolt operation.

I also have a remington 700 sps tactical in 308 and it's also in a Bell and Carlson stock but with a timney trigger and I spent the money to get the bolt fluted and added a tactical knob. It shoots great also.

If I were to do it again though, I would absolutely get a tikka heavy barreled 308. For me, I have about the same amount of $ in both of these guns and the tikka shoots every ammo i've put through it very accurately. The Remington is just a little more rough around the edges - the finish on the sps guns and the bolts are less than awesome - but they are cheaper for a reason. You could get the remington, add an aftermarket stock, a timney trigger for about the same amount as the tikka ctr.

Just personal preference in the end, but I would not hesitate to buy the tikka. I actually want one in a 6.5 creedmoor pretty badly. Some don't like the polymer parts on the tikka's but I've never had a problem and really like their magazines. Also, seems like the tikka's are more forgiving with ammo and are less picky. Hope this helps

Tikka. But get the CTR over the tactical. About 400 bucks less
