Please build this. I will pay for one round of ammo and beer just to meet up and shoot that canon! watched a video of one a few years ago...ever since then I have had the itch to shoot one.

Whatever you do, don't go with the SSM---dieing cartridge and the brass is a PITA to reload in my experience.

22-250 is an all around good varmint/predator huntin caliber.

Depending on the bolt face, a plain jane .223 is cheap, accurate and fun to shoot. If you want something faster I'd go 22-250 over the ones you mentioned or maybe step up to a 6x 47 or 243ack. The 243 ackley will shoot 70gr BT's at 3800-3900fps but it won't last near as long as a .223 some of the dog towns we shot over would keep 3 guys steady all day long for two days. We would go thru about 1200-1500 rds ea. What other cartridges do you own currently?

Have you thought about a .223 AI? If not, I'd go with a .204. One of those will be mine some day.

One more thing, in a dog town, the .204 will give the best view of red mist due to low recoil.

I'll agree that "red mist" is indeed cool, but "helicopters" is where its at!
