About to order a defiance rebel action to build a varmint/prairie dog rifle. Thinking about the 204, 223wssm and 220swift. Any others to consider?

204 = lowest powder consumption, lowest recoil, lowest heat generation, flattest trajectory of the 3. All GOOD things in a PD rig.
22-250 = work horse no doubt. Easy to make shoot. I've killed 2 tubes on mine so far shooting PD's. Hope I get the chance to kill a couple more. I spend more time waiting on it to cool than I do shooting it.
220 Swift = Yep, it's speed is awesome. Finding brass for it is not awesome. Finding GOOD brass for it is even less awesome. Can be a finicky round for sure.

if shooting prairie dogs, single shot , solid bottom actions are ideal and the preferred choice by many
repeaters are nice for song dogs but not mandatory
I hunt deer, pigs, coyotes, and crows with single shot, benchrest actions and do not feel handicapped in anyway
it all depends on what the OP feels most comfortable with , that's the beauty of building a custom rifle

Song dogs are considered varmints by many and a repeater does make a better coyote gun than a single shot, unless you can get doubles to line up and stand still for you? The same can be said for a hot dog town you would be giving up quite a few dogs in our company, BR cased repeaters will not feed as well as many other one hole cartridges. BR brass can also be expensive and will need to be worked. This can be tough especially if you need several hundred rounds for a two day shoot. Doesn't look like the op reloads based on his choices. In this case a 20 practical or straight .223 might be a better choice for the op. BTW I love my single shot 6mmbr
