Looks like I will pick up a Shield in the mean time then. Nothing wrong with my G19, just would like something smaller, and don't like the feel of the G26. I'll wait for the G43 when he gets them in.....

I really like my wife's shield. I can't wait to shoot the 2 side by side. I'm afraid I will like her shield more than my 43!

Not that it would be a bad thing, the Shield's are affordable enough anyways. Looks like my SW 617 search just got delayed a bit

Can you give a comparison after shooting them both. I love my Glocks, but carry a shield. I held off on the G42 because of the G43.

I just picked up a 43 at academy yesterday. I went in to see if they had a shield 9 but they didn't and said they had just got two 43s in that they didn't expect for months and had already sold one. Since my gift cards were burning a hole in my pocket I said I'll take it. This is my first glock, can't wait to run some rounds through it.

I have the 43, 19, and 34. Each have a different purpose. I haven't ever bought in to the 26 because I don't see the need. If you can conceal the 26 you can conceal the 19. Want something smaller? 43 is you guy. Or a kahr, shield ect.

While I see your point I already have a 17 and can't justify the expense of a g19. There is not enough difference between a g19 and g17 to be worth the price of a g19. The smart option for me is either the g26 or g43 which frame size are almost identical except for the width.
And I am trying to decide if the extra .16 in is really worth the 3 rounds of ammo and the ability to use a g17 mag for back-up or spare.
A shield seems to be a much larger handgun than a g43. The shield is about the size of a officers 1911 or larger isn't it?

I agree with the g19 and g17 not being different enough. I actually prefer it. No read my post again but substitute g19 for g17 and see if that helps you any. No way the 43 could be replaced with a 26 for me. the shield is almost the same size as my 43. Definitely close enough to the same size to be competitors.
