I like my 5 1/2" barrel .44 Magnum Ruger Super Blackhawk. Second choice is STI TBH 10mm, third is my 6 1/2" .357 Ruger Blackhawk. My favorite is my .454 Casull Super Redhawk, but with a 7 1/2" barrel and 2X6 scope mounted, its too big to carry as backup.

It doesn't matter what you carry. Whether it be a 9mm or the big 500 S&W. All that matters is what's comfortable for you to carry and shoot. I've heard it's uncomfortable to carry on my belt so the person puts it in their bag. Your handgun does no good to you in your bag. If you shoot it well then it doesn't matter what caliber it is within good reason obviously. Such as a low poundage bow vs a higher poundage bow. Shot placement is they key just like anything else. However, I understand that shot placement however is easier said than done when skid marks form in your underwear so if that's something you'll worry about get something that puts out more energy but sometimes that can also vary depending on ammo. I don't have a 10mm but if I had my choice to carry in the sticks, that would be it. And you don't have to spend stupid money on a firearm that looks great but doesn't work if it takes a little abuse.

                        Touché.

But when the OP talked about a 9mm Jimenez, I didn't figure he was looking at that level of weapon.

Yall are funny. Im a huge tc fan. I mentioned Jimenez because i was just looking for suggestions. If a 9mm would work, id consider a Jimenez. We sell alot and ive shot a couple and i liked em. Butttt, ive been playin with some glocks and rugers at work. Really good feel.

If I were relying on a weapon to save my life, Jimenez would not even make the cut.
