Keep in mind if you plan to reload, every single case will have to be fire formed with the 280 AI.
Nosler is now making 280 AI brass

Nosler brass has always been way to soft for my liking.

I much prefer Lapua and they offer brass for the 6.5-284.

They are doing something different with the 280AI or it's the design itself?? I'm at a loss...all my other nosler gives up the ghost before other brands. The nosler 280AI hardly ever needs trimming and pockets stay tight & I'm running hot.

I'm just tickled to death how consistent it is & I don't have to mess with neck turning with a tight neck...could not be happier.

Now if Lapua made 280AI....I would still run over to see how it does.

I prefer Lapaua brass too but not going to let that deter me from shooting what I want too.

so i saw the thread this morning with the offer from APR, i may be jumping on this to be the test dummy and see how it turns out. Does anyone have input on douglas barrels, and the B&C alaskan stock? I am wanting a heavier barrel and am worried it may be out of balance with the Alaskan stock.

I am also considering keeping this rifle an ADL or bedding a single shot follower in its place.

I've got a barrel made from a douglas blank and it shoots just like they say it will. The barrel is only half of the equation they will have to do the work on it... I've never heard of anything from APR so i cant say either way what standard they hold their rifles to.

With APR extending the TBH discount I may be changing this up a Little bit.

                        Thinking about the following

                        Magnum contour 280AI
                        ADL to BDL conversion
Spiral flutes down bolt and barrel
Black with grey spider web stock
                        Tungsten cerakote on all metal.

                        Any thoughts?
