Use your bow when that close or do like me and shoot in the neck or head.

At close range you are going to be better off changing caliber to something slower moving as stated before. Most bullets on the market, and especially any balistic tip style round, is going to come apart when it hits anything at that velocity and distance. It will cause a lot of devastation, but you won't get an exit. A nosler partition or swift A-frame would probably be your best bets to possibly hold together and give an exit at those velocities. I think you'll be better off to just change caliber if you are planning on keeping your shots that close.

only thing I'd add is considering a good ole .35 Whelen as well

i got tired of having to follow blood trails with controlled expansion bullets so i use a 110gr. Vmax at 3800 out of my 300wby. Leaves um piled up where they stand and kicks less too.

Shotgun and buckshot. #1's or #4's which ever it shoots best. I hunted up there for years. Every deer I killed was with my old 1100. Always had a rifle with me but no need for it.

Ive had great results with the silvertip. Loaded in a 7 mag with 82gr reloader 25 at 3500 out of 26in barrel styer. Never had one move from where they were standing. Always got exits but inside looked like a bomb blew up

                      where im at

If I am wanting to be SURE they drop where they stand, my 45-70 goes through both shoulders and still makes a good hole coming out. Doesn't matter what bullet you use.

Buy a 94 Winchester in .44 mag (It must be a 94 Winchester for this load/length) and shoot 300 or 310 grn FPGC bullets. I shot 180lb sow in the rear at about 70 yards with it, blew up her hip, and went out the shoulder. A 45-70 shooting a FN cast bullet will do some real damage, but it may be a bit too much gun.
