    AR Platform 308 ????

I am interested in purchasing a 308 in an AR platform. What I want, all things being equal, is one that is resilient, not prone to jamming or fouling, minimal maintenance, long life and light. School me please. Thanx in advance, Calvin

      "Buy this one"

      "Buy that one"

"Mine is brand A and I really love it"

      "Brand A sucks, buy brand B, that's what I shoot. It's better"

Calvin, you want a bolt gun.

but seriously, If you take care of it, clean it, don't bend it, it will be all of the above, BUT not light.

I like my LR308 by DPMS. I don't know a lot about long life or jamming because I've not shot it very much, but I can tell you it isn't light

i too have dpms lr308. Heavy, but nothing a man cant handle. Dont have a problem with jamming. I have shot all kinds including steel. It shoots better than I can. I know this cause my friends shoot tighter groups with it than I.
And it did not break the bank.

Oh and my wifes, uncles 8 year old son shot his first too deer with it. And they are tiny people's Like real tiny. Weight should not be an issue unless you are going on a 2 mile hike. We do half mile patrols to the pig feeder multiple times a night with it.

                            LMT MWS all the way
You can even change calibers (308 based) if you'd like.

Piston is more reliable in the long run but you are gonna pay for it.
