also, some distributors i.e. Lipsey's, Accusport, Bill Hicks, etc... had "special runs" of the Sendero style rifles with laminate stocks. These were limited to 250-500 rifles.

Sendero rifles pretty much put HS Precision on the map b/c of the full length bedding block and great marketing

Also in the mid/late 90's, Remington offered the PSS (Police Sniper Synthetic) with an HS stock clone of the M24 sniper stock that had a palm swell. The 700PSS and 700 VS (varmint synthetic were nearly the same except stock options) . The 700PSS name was later changed to 700P or 700 Police and had a Detach Mag option , chambered in 308 and 223

They also did the police in a 300 win mag, if memory serves. I had one of the original 300 win mag senderos, that gun shot 3" groups at 600 yards with match ammo. Like a moron, I sold it. One of the few rifles I wished i would have never gotten rid of. Young and stupid I guess......

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe some of the original "Sendero special" rifles came with a 24" barrel.

Never seen a factory Sendero LA with a 24" tube, SA rifles may have had shorter barrels

The "specials" would have been configured by the Wholesaler's specs, not Big Green. Most were limited to 250-500 rifles as I have no clue if 24" barrels were the norm

I have two of the older models. Mine is a 7 mm mag and my wife's is a 270. Both shoot lights out and I have made some pretty long shots with both. Won't take shots that far with any of my other rifles yet. I just like the feel of the older ones better.

I must have a special run as mine has a laminate stock. It also has a high gloss blued finish and isn't fluted. Chambered in 7 mag and has been my go to gun for a long time! I was sure thinking I got it in the early 90's, but it may have been the mid 90's.

This should confuse everyone now. I have also seen a model like this in 308.

I have 2 senderos from the 96 to 97 range one in an STW the other in a 25 06 bolth shoot lights out out to 200 and very comfortable to 400. I love bolth and neither would ever be for sale. However I know my uncle has 2 98ish stws that have never been fired and another in I believe 270 that might have 20 rounds threw the pipe. I think he gave 2,200 for the three. So those rifles are out there just have to find them and for the right price.

I bought the first VSSF in 7STW I could find. New on the market in '98 and it's been a shooter ever since. With my Haskemaw it shoots 8" groups at a grand. NOT FOR SALE!!

Got mine in 2000........Christmas gift from Dad for his three boys all in our favorite calibers....270 (me), .25-06 and 300 WM for my two brothers. All still going strong and all three are shooters. Love the matte barrel and HS stock..

One of these days I am going to stumble on to the VSF 22-.250 in the full fluted matte black barrel with the same.

Would have to be in extreme dire straits to get ever sell this one...
