Just bought a 243 that I will use this season. Didn't see any rem ammo (have a pack from last year) so I bough the hornady 100gr whiteail special. We'll see.

I see the 100 grainers everywhere.

I shoot the 80 grainers out of my 788. I like them. I dont shoot hundreds of deer per year, they have always worked well for me. But this is the only Remington load I shoot.

.243 for deer , only one choice for me 100 gr Nosler Partions. There is no doubt when you hit one.

I've got a rem. model 7 ranch model .243. Core loks have worked really well. Perfect for a TX sized game.

core loks are hard to find in 243 so I switched to the federal blue box, they group very well out of our NEF bull barrel. Wal mart stock these, when you can catch them I buy a couple boxes at a time. The kids shoot'em up.

Yeah I actually went by the local Academy, which usually has a great selection of .243 rounds, and there was not a single box of .243 core lokts on the shelf. It didn't appear that they had run out, it looked more like they didn't even stock it.
