Does anyone know why you can't find these anywhere anymore? I'm not a big ammo guy, a box usually last me 3-4 years but earlier this year I was forced to by Barnes b/c I can find Remington's anywhere

Nothing wrong with Core-Lokts but the Barnes TSX bullets are awesome.

Walmart and Academy in Tyler has them. No problem finding them up here...

Wish I could find them cheaper than $40 a box in midland/Odessa.

Got plenty but will always buy more.

If a box last you 3 or 4 years I would stick with the Barnes.. They are by far a better bullet imo, I used to shoot core lokts but switched to Barnes Vortx tsx and every single animal I've shot with them hasn't made it 5 yards

In a post earlier this year everyone had great things to say about the Barnes, I've shot 1/2 a box but my model 70 short action doesn't seem to pattern them well. I was just curious about the core lokts b/c I've looked at numourus academy's and walmart's with no luck and no one could tell me why they aren't stocked anymore

try some 100 gr gamekings or 95 gr fusions.

Some people will defend the corelokts to their grave. Ive had them fail. Bullet failure isnt ok with me. I will never shoot them again.

You're 1000x better off with the newer technology bullets out there now... or even the old school SP's

Bring on the hate about how your pappy shot them for 175 years and never blah blah blah... Ive had them fail in multiple calibers, each time the animal died, bullet placement was dead on and they killed multiple animals (thats how I know they failed) upon inspection we (myself and another rifle hunter friend) found repeatedly jacket separation from the core... something the name and reputation is built up AGAINST. Corelokt? nope they seperated almost 100% of the time in 30.06, 300 win mag, and about 80% of the time in 243 win.

Ive said it repeatedly, but then get flamed... Ive seen it first hand... Trust me I want them to shoot and work.. they are cheap from walmart, the best I've ever had them shoot is 1.5" at 100 yards... not great, but hey they were cheap Dont know what else to tell you.

That bullet in that caliber ruined my first deer I ever shot. Never again.

I have been using the 95 grain fusions in my wife's 243. They shoot tight groups.
