I worked for academy years ago. It seemed to me that they intentionally put people in departments they knew nothing about. We had sports junkies behind the gun counter, gun people in shoes, etc. everybody wanted to be in a different department.

I've been in Granbury since 1997. Never been in that store because of the stories I've heard!

I was really stupid...went in 3 times, last one I had to find an accessory that I thought he might have. Posted what happened "that trip" several days ago.

Now I just drive by and salute with a "spasm" in my middle finger.

Our super center in Granbury has very little inventory (ammo, accessories, guns, etc.) so I was not expecting much...how wrong I was!

Their ammo selection was something else with multiple selections of different brands, loads, etc. They even had 7mm-08 which I have NEVER seen in any Walmart. Lot's of scopes, conversion kits for shotguns, etc. and even some African game mounts for décor.

I soon found out why after talking to their "hunting" manager. This young man is a marine, obviously loves hunting and definitely knows his stuff. To top it off, I listened to him explain the pro's and con's of several rifles to a lady buying her husband one for Father's Day.

All this AND HE WAS VERY POLITE, FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL!

I Thanked Him for His Service and next time I'm in Cleburne will have to stop in and see what he has added to their inventory....VERY SURPRISED!
Wow, that is very unusual for Walmart. Most MGMT I have dealt with are collecting a check and making sure the $$$ is accounted for as best as possible and not much else. Certainly did not manage personnel or give a rats *** about customer service. One director I dealt with had his automotive department run by group of thugs that rarely had 50% of those on the clock working at one time. Cell phones and ipods where much more important than customers vehicles. 2 years later same thing still going on, I took my business to the locally owner/managed Firestone down the street for good.
