There are a variety of Rifle length guards available for the 12.5" but you just need to watch ID of the rail & the OD of th can.

This will give the same type look as Chris's set up...a couple of 12.5" with full lenth hand guards.

The only parts I have bought are the Nordic stripped upper, upper parts kit, gas tube and block, and the tan colored furniture and the Wilson barrel. Cash on the gun is probably $400.
        THats an undertaking! Quite impressive.

Depends on the type of can Coach...some do not have the lock & just quick twist off like the YHM. If an aac is used, then getting to the lock is doable if the guard overlaps the can. Just not user friendly & need to consider if easy / immediate removal is a must in your application. Certainly not for everyone & what makes building AR's so fun.

I prefer having the rail cover the gas block & butting up to the can where the bbl is not visible on SBRs.

will be touching base with you soon...congrats.
If you're going to SBR a 300 BO, the minimal gains over 8" are not worth the extra length to me. My gun expands both the 110 grain Barnes and 125 grain Nosler BT and 125 Hornady SST bullets perfectly.

With the stock in position 4 where I shoot it and the can attached is still shorter than my Colt 6920 with no can attached. It's very nice and handy in the truck and blind.

mike / chris...have you had a chance to compare velocities of the 110 hot super sonic loads in a 12.5" tube vs the 8-9" range yet?? This will really be my deciding factor.

I'm not concerned about the 110 expanding as I'm sure it is a great pill, just curious to how flat it is out to 200-250...there has to be some gains from the 8 - 12.5 here I would think. If not, I have my direction.

I dig the squaty builds, they just seem more dedicated sub driven with heavy pills & not sure how much of that I will actually shoot. I do know the 6.8 performs very well out of the 12.5" & on the heals of the standard length 16" tubes...I just hate the thought of needing different mags.

I'm sure I will figure it out & got nothing but time waiting on the can.
