    Need Gun Value

I have an opportunity to buy/trade/sell a couple guns for an AR of some sort. I have a Remington 03-A3 in 30.06 all original with a barrel stamp of 5-43. I also have a 1970's Dan Wesson revolver with what I'm pretty sure is an 8" barrel. Both of these were left to me and a guy I know made an offer to buy/sell them as he knows I was looking at a DPMS AR.
He told me to look them up to see what I wanted and then we would talk. I know him and he is a good guy but I don't know the value of these guns. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The Remington when I looked it up was all over the place. I saw several that were in really good condition (which mine is) going for over $1000 and then on the other side I saw some in the $400-$500 range. So I'm not sure what makes the difference. Note: The rifle in the picture isn't mine) And the Dan Wesson is in brand new condition even though it is over 40 years old.

Can someone point me in the right direction on where to look or if you know a good value would be here ?

Sorry. I tried to post pictures but I'm at work and am on a Mac. I am a pc guy so this mac is hating on me. Haha. I just suck with computers sometimes.
I'll figure it out in a bit.

DON'T SELL THE 03! No DPMS is worth selling an 03 over IMO

I would keep both and start rat-holing money for a kit rifle. You have some gems and there is no way I would let them go for an AR.

Wow. I wasn't expecting this response. I had plans for the DW. I wanted to scope it out and use it as a "hunting" pistol one day as it is pretty accurate and shoots well. My dad only had it because someone owed him some money and never paid up so he kept the revolver. Never shot it once. It has been fired but not since he owned it in the early 80's. I have put some rounds through it but there is not a scratch or mark on the gun or grip.
As for the Rem 03. It was my dad's uncle's gun in the war and he ended up with it somehow and it sat in a gun safe just being oiled every now and then since then. After my dad passed his brother (my uncle) gave it to me since my dad never made the drive to go and pick it up. Hasn't been fired since it was in services is my understanding. The only men who knew have both passed. But it is in great shape as well. Just didn't know what they it would be worth.
I guess I could see why he wanted to jump on them so fast. I'm sure he wouldn't have taken both but would have done rifle with cash. I am still on the fence but wanted to make an educated decision.

sell your kidney before getting rid of the 03. you would regret it later on.

I'd personally keep both of guns as well. No DPMS is worth those two family heirlooms. If your buddy has the DPMS, why not see if he'll finance it for you? Whatever you do, keep the two you have!

What caliber is Dan Wesson? If I had a 44 mag I would definitely hang on to it. About the most accurate production revolver ever. They stamp out AR's by the thousands. A Dan Wesson was assembled, fitted and finished by hand by real people.

It is a .357 Magnum. I have shot it and enjoy shooting it when I do and found that it is accurate.
The reason it came up was we were talking about 3 gun competitions which he shoots a lot of and has a lot of fun doing so. He has invited me but I don't have an AR so I haven't gone with him. After it came up he suggested maybe selling a rifle or pistol to fund one or even trading a firearm or two. Once I told him some of the stuff I had those two perked his interest quite a bit and that is when he made an offer to sell/trade for them. He has quite a few firearms. How about one of his LaRue Tactical AR's?
