I was recently invited to shoot at Pirates of Texas carbine match. Seeing how I didn't own an ar15 i called my brother up to see if I could borrow his RRA 223. After talking with my friend Ryan, who convinced me to build an ar15, I went seeking advice on how to build one.
IKE played a large role in my build answering all my questions and providing several parts I needed. He sold me a psa upper, lpk, buffer tube, and stock.(I think that's all, and for an extremely fair price) After researching what I wanted out of my ar15 I decided to build an 18" competition style gun on a BUDGET!
I set my budget to $800. Ryan, being the good friend he is, gave me a psa stripped lower for FREE. IKE answered what seemed like 100 questions about different parts and different designs and their intended purposes along with benefits toward my build.
Last night the laser piece to my puzzle came in the mail from midway usa. 18" fluted 223 wylde barrel.
Since I was like a kid at Christmas and couldn't wait to play with my new toy I decided to put it all together last night at Burdette and Sons instead of waiting until I could get down to see IKE. I got there at 8:00 and didn't leave until after 11:00. Yeah I know I'm That slow! I took my time with the punch making sure not to scratch up my new gun.
Finally put the lower together. Learned the mag release goes in before the bolt latch. Doh!
