    Muzzleloaders ?

Who's hunting with them , what range limit do you keep shots at ? Thanks

I'm using mine this weekend. I try to limit myself to 100 yards and under. I don't have a BDC reticle scope on it yet.

I'll be after one last Burger doe next weekend. 75 yards or less. No scope on my TC prohunter yet. The last 2 have been about 50, fiber optics work great for me. My dad and I both shoot 100 grains of 777 pellets and hornady sabots.

With my side lock with round balls and iron sights - 75 yds. With my scoped TC ProHunter - 200 yds.

I shoot a Lyman's Great Plains rifle .54 cal. With patched round balls and iron sights, I keep it to 80 yards.

Same rifle I shoot. I shoot a .530 round ball with .015 pillow ticking patching in front of 110 grains of FFg black powder. I've killed deer at 100 yds with it but my eyes aren't what they used to be so I keep it at 75 or under.

Two in the cooler right now taken with my CVA Wolf at 60 and 70 yds.
              100 gr 777 and 245gr powerbelts.
Powerbelts are so much easier to load and clean aftet than other brands.
I stay under 100 yds and average shot is around 60.

I use that load as well but I like the TC pre-lubed patches. I get better accuracy with 80 grains and that's fine for deer but for elk, bear and pigs I'll use 110 grains. I want that extra umpff. I call mine Thumper. It really thumps em hard.

I hear ya about the eyes. It's getting tougher every year.

This is the gun I just got .. I went and shot it for the first time Sunday . Set up a target at 110 yards and it was hitting dead on . I use 100 grains 777 loose powder and a 225 power belt .. I'm excited to put something down with it ...

I shoot three differnt muzzleloaders and my longest kill was a mid 140's buck at 191 yards. Buckhorn 209 is an amazing powder and very stable. On top of that I use Hornady Sabots and Harvester Crush Rib Sabots. EVERY gun is different and for long range accuracy you gotta put in your time shooting. Even the same model of gun will shoot differnt from the one next to it. Make notes on loads and save targets so you remember next year what worked. I shoot 100 grains of the Buckhorn 209 and it works well in all three of my guns. My dad shoots one, my girlfriend shoots one, and I shoot one. My dad shot a buck at 143 yards this year that scored 162. I shot under a buck in the mid 140's this last weekend because I didnt have time to range him and I guessed wrong. He looked to be at 120 yards and he was at 155 yards. One last thing. The PRIMER you use can make a HUGE difference. and under no circumstance should you mix primers.

Haven't put a limit on my T/C .50 Renegade , patched ball with 100 gr of FF. longest kill was right at 100 yds.

Farthest opportunity I have had with my flint was 45 yards.
                            Iron sights on both.

                              Great gun for the $$$.
                              Perfect for tree stand hunting.
You can spend a lot more $$$ on a M L with more bells and whistles.
But, dead is dead and my freezer full of backstrap and jalapeno cheese sausage tastes just as good
