    Mossberg 935 , opinion ?????

Love my Mossberg pump guns and was thinking on trying an autoloader , any of y'all had the Mossberg 935. I am getting back into duck hunting and have the wants for a new duck gun. Any feedback about the 935 , Thanks...

Man you've opened a can of worms, I speak from experience on that. I have a 935 that I've been shooting for over a year now. Had one issue with a part recently that Mossberg sent to me for free with 2nd day shipping. The only other problem I had with it recently that left me angry in the blind was simply operator error. I have another guy I hunt with occasionally that has one as well, and he has had no issues either, and with a modified choke in that gun will knock out some ducks and skeet. Keep it clean and oiled and it won't do you wrong. And IF you ever have any issues, rest assured Mossberg will stand behind their product. There's an opinion for you from a guy who ACTUALLY owns one and uses it regularly.

I've seen Aarons in action and other than the operator error he described it worked as well as my benelli and my beretta a400. Only issue I've heard and I have no experience with them is they don't like to cycle lighter loads very well. For the money though and a dedicated duck gun I think it makes sense.

Most folks I know either sold theirs or dedicated it to waterfowling specifically because they could not shoot dove loads out of it.

I have one too. I've had no issues and love mine. I read some pretty harsh reviews on the gun, and was a little hesitant on purchasing it. I also read the reviews for the Mossberg 500 as a comparison, and that was my first gun I ever purchased and I love that gun. Plus I used the 500 time to time in the Army for a "breaching" tool. So I just bit the bullet and bought it. I've hunted with it for two seasons, and I'm pretty happy with it. It is designed to shoot 3 and 3 1/2, but I've shot small 2 3/4 dove/rabbit loads with zero jamming problems. Some of the reviews people were having problems with it cycling light loads, but I did not experience it. It is a working man's gun, with nothing fancy about it. Thats my 2 cents. I'm sure that some people don't like the gun for whatever reason, but it served my purpose as a cheaper autoloader for duck/dove/rabbit/turkey.

A friend of mine has one he uses for duck hunting. I can't remember any issues he has had with it with any of the duck loads. Said it occasionally sticks with some of the lighter dove loads, but that's usually indicative of needing a good cleaning and lube. Not quite as light/soft of recoiling (feeling) as my older Beretta 391 Xtrema, but that could just be me and the fit of the gun to me and what not. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if its a good deal or in your price range. All the Mossbergs I have owned have been good guns.

Mine would not shoot 23/4 for about 150 rounds. Now that it's broke in it will shoot anything I put in it.

I've run mine hard since 2007 for waterfowl and late season pheasant up north. Zero issues, but I never have shot anything other than 3" or 3.5" shells from it. I would not hesitate to buy another. Yes, its recoil will get your attention, but I did put a replacement Limbsaver recoil pad on it, which made it nicer with heavy waterfowl loads.

Thanks , have been reading reviews for a few days and its either great or the worst shotgun ever , either in love or straight hate. Like I said I love my 835 and might just buy another one , just had an urge for an autoloader.....

I've heard good reviews. I didn't like how it felt when shouldering it.

Go check it out and a few others.

I will say also that mine does have some issues with the lighter target loads. However last time I was shooting skeet I tried a few different brands until I found one that really didn't give me any problems. So don't be completely discouraged from target loads, it's just a little picky with them.

It would only be a waterfowl gun , I have a dedicated dove and clay gun , it would never see any 2 3/4 light loads , Thanks,,,,,

Why not buy a gun you could use everything in no matter what it was dedicated to?. I used to like to shoot a few rounds of clays with my SBE before season just to get the feel back every year. With most 935s you can't do that consistently.

I have a 930. I love the gun. I've NEVER had it jam on any thing I've put through it. Light loads to slugs it ran them all. What I really love about it is the adjustable stock Hight. It really helped the gun "fit" better.
