30.06 sign alert

Is that a listed law or court case?

I can't find the term every entrance or even just "entrance" in either the Penal Code under 30.06 or in the Government Code Chapter 411 dealing with CHL.

I am not saying that it is wrong but wondering where the info is coming from.

Interested as well. I ASSUMED that if I were caught in an establishment that didn't have all entrances legally marked I would be required to show where I made entrance and lack of signage.

This is what the PC says about it being displayed in 30.06.

"....in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public"

That is all that I can find.

If it was as simply as "every entrance", why not simply say that?

Using their own wording, it could have been, "...in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public" at every entrance.

Good point there tvc. I had always assumed it was to be posted at every entrance. I usually go into the same door when I go to Grapevine Mills Mall but the one time I changed doors I saw it. If it hadn't been for the one time I parked somewhere different, then I would have never known they even had a 30.06 sign, regardless of if it would hold up or not.

Same thing at the Jarred's at the Woodlands mall, fortunately they had a competitor close by that wasn't bothered by my handgun, now they have my money.

You should let Jarred's know that as well.

I brought that up in a thread a few weeks or months ago.

They might be very aware of what they are doing. Make the anti-gunners feel safe from what the don't know and anyone with a CHL knows that it is meaningless. It might be brilliant marketing..... on the other hand it may be corporate stupidity.

^ There were a few on there that surprised me. Does anyone know what's up with the Perot Museum? I have never seen any signs at the main building or the fair park location.

Church

Im a youth pastor and carry every sunday along with the lead pastor, most of the church worship band and probably 30-40% of our congregation...it has to be ok with the pastor of the individual church.

When I took my class, the instructor said it had to be on every entrance.

If you walk by a legal 30.06 sign, you are asking for trouble, but if you find an entrance that doesn't have one and use that entrance every time I think you have a really good defense.

My pastor has his secret service. A group of people that he has granted permission to carry. My pastor, the assistant pastor, the son-in-law of the pastor, and 2 of the ushers also have their licenses and they carry. I feel sorry for anyone that tries to do anything in our church.


Oh, and we have no guns allowed signs over every door, to keep people happy and to have legal grounds to ask people to leave if they are carrying, are not a part of the secret service, and are causing problems.
