Thoughts on TC encore

I'm the odd ball. I thought I would have one gun and switch out barrels to what ever I wanted. Wow cool Awsome. But you look at price of a custom TC barrel and look at the price of what I can build a custom savage for instance or if I wanted a standard caliber buying a 300-400 rifle, I would rather have the additional rifle. You don't save that much room. But I'm wierd.

You're not weird. I sometimes wonder why I bought mine. I only have two barrels and the trigger is horrible on them. Although I'm ordering a kit to help that. But they are accurate with good mounts and scopes. The .22-250 barrel I have allows me to see the bullet hit the animal and that's cool. Good shooting rifles overall.

Get a Bellm kit and change your springs. Easy to do, and makes them MUCH better.

I just bought my encore prohunter, how hard are these kits to install?

my encore is a tack driver. i love it. I've had 7mm-08, 223, 25-06, 30-06, 243, 308 and 22-250 barrels.

bought the original gun used. never did anything but mount a scope on each barrel and shoot em.

I have a Prohunter in 25-06, 30-06, and .50 muzzleloader. The 25.06 is most accurate. Quarter sized groups with Winchester Ballistic Tip 115gr. I love it.

I can't wait for my barrel to get here, I ordered a .308. Some of these barrels are hard to find!

I have an Encore that I've had for many years. Mike Bellm did the trigger job for me and its really nice.

I at one time had 5 barrels for it. By the time you buy a new barrel, scope and mounts, you can nearly buy a new rifle. If you are doing it thinking you are going to save money, you aren't.

They shoot pretty good with custom barrels but factory barrels can be finicky with ammo.

I'm actually selling all of my Encore barrels except for my 260 pistol barrel and replacing them with bolt rifles.
