I have the same 1911 and have had similar issues on two or three occasions. First 2 times were ammo problems, last time I think it was just dirty. This pistol HATES to be dirty.

Thanks all again! I have been away from the handgun scene for quite a few years. I love the 1911 pistol and my last one was a Colt Defender. Lost a match grade Gold Cup to a DPS officer investigating a wreck I was involved in ( it was in his possession when it went missing), I even filed a stolen report which was misplaced a couple times. I have never had any problems until this one, but I will get it figured out! Thanks again for all the input!

I use IMSI single flat springs in my Colt Officers model and they work really good also try different brands of ammo to see what runs best.

Maybe try a recoil master from STI, my 3 in STI escort runs like a singer sowing machine. I run Kimber 7 rd mags in it. And you may need to open or polish the throat on the barrel.
