    rifle

Get him a muzzle break on his favorite gun and he can handle it. Or get the legal papers and a suppressor. They are legal in Texas and it's like shooting a pellet gun.

mossberg makes a nice 25-06 with muzzle break on it. Shoots with little to no re-coil. My wife handles it and so does my 12 year old.

I didn't know that 30-30 had that much kick to it. Only about 10lbs of recoil energy

Is he just looking for something for further ditances or more knock down??
I would say a 25-06 with a muzzle brake like the mossburg bulltx 50 was speaking of. If not that then the only other thing without buying and adding muzzle brakes and all that after market mods to would be the .223 and .30 calibers in an AR platform. The AR style rifles today especially competition models are like shooting 22s and on a nat's a ss accurate.

Get a 257 Roberts with a muzzle break.. That'd be a sweet shooting gun!

Anything lighter than what you have listed?
He needs a muzzle break and a Sim Recoil Pad on his 22-250. Buying another gun will get you nowhere if the recoil from his 22 cal. rifles is to much for him.

We had one of our more seasoned members have heart bypass surgery before rifle season started a few years back. We put a muzzle brake on a 243, gun had no recoil after that.

I know my .338 Win Mag only kicks like a .243 with the BOSS on it.
