    Rifle help

My dad is disabled and has a hard time shooting a gun that high recoil. He is looking for another low recoil rifle that can kill deer. He already has a .223, .22-250, .243 and a 7mm-08. Any suggestions?

.220 swift, .204, several wildcat .22 cals out there just ask cajun blake about them. Might look into the .17 cals also like the fireball.

if he has a 22-250 and 7-08 he has all he really needs. If he just wants something new a 257 Roberts or 25-06 would fit the bill, as would a 6.8 SPC or 308

If he's hunting Tx any centerfire is legal, however shot placement will be key on the smaller caliber. Look at a 260, same parent case as 308,243,7-08 and is in between the 243 and 7-08. It's considered as a round for antelope.

Tell him to buy the managed recoil load for the 7mm-o8. It is very light.

If he's not happy with the recoil on the guns he already has, there is not much he is going to be happy with I am afraid.

Could also go with a caliber in an AR 15 action which would cut down on recoil. My buddy has a .308 AR 10 and it don't kick much

I have a 6.5-284 with a brake that has practically no kick as long as you have earplugs!

He might be happy with a 25-06

Muzzle brake is the answer.... My 257wby w/ brake kicks less than my 223 w/o a brake.

                          30.06 w/brake feels like a 243 w/o a brake.

I have a 223 w/ brake (for suppressor) without the suppressor it shoots like a .22 lr.

                          However, it's heck for loud.

260 Remington with a muzzle brake would feel like a 22-250.

If he is not looking for much distance, I would get a 30-30. A great classic gun!!!
