For 600 yards or in I would just buy a vx3, mark4, or vx6. All the same glass just different features.

If you want to go big find a used hensholdt or USO or S&B. they can be had in that range if you look. Night force makes a good tough scope. Good deals can be had on used ones. I would consider a zeiss with the proper turrets but not a rapid z reticle (don't like how they work or any of the reticle for that matter that aren't in Moa or mils but that just me).

Nothing in that price range will be bad. Just find the features you want and I suggest buying used to get more for your money.

They are produced in the same factory as the NF, difference is NF is assembled here.

They don't use same lens coating as the NF. The older husk versions glass is terrible, down right terrible. The new blue diamond is better but still not any where close to Upper end Swaro and Ziess.

I personally think they are price way high. If they were $700 maybe 800 they would be a good deal.

Only thing you get with the husk is a moa windage reticle, but he'll you can buy that on a Burris now for a third the price,

Texas42 do you or have you ever personally owned any Nightforce or Huskemaw scopes?

Yelp on the NF and no on the huskemaw. I played with the Blue Diamond back in sept, that one of my family members bought. Good system but again doesn't compare optically to Zeiss victory's or swaro z's. Got two friends also running jim stewart customs(308, 6.5-284) topped with NF'S.
Even they agree they wish the would of looked at the Z5/Z6 w/t and the Zeiss victories before going with NF. With that said I havent ran the G7, but suspect simlar glass as other NF

There is a 15 min shooting light difference at 300 yards between the z5 and huskemaw set at same power. About a 10 min difference with the NF.

I should asked you the reverse if you've owned or ran the upper end Swaro or Zeiss but know the answer because we wouldnt be agruing this.

You want a long range competition mil scope with a ton of adjustment, zero stop ect then get a NF. You want top end hunting glass with a MOA option top turret get Swaro or Zeiss.
As far as huskemaw, as I said drop the price to 700-800 then you have a decent agruement for a good scope with decent features in that price range.

Texas 42 yes on the Zeiss no on the Swaro. The G7 is a Nightforce with a custom reticule being the only difference. And no I am not arguing with you, I only wanted to know if you were one of these guys that only owns $ 200.00 scopes but chimes in and tells everyone with $ 2000.00 scopes the pros and cons, why and why shouldn't you pick and chose this one over that one. Not that it makes any difference but I do wholeheartedly disagree with you but then again that is why some drive Fords, some drive Chevys and some drive Dodges and so on.

I'm not one of those guys hence the vld thread, I stated my first hand experience with backing.

Hopefully we have given the OP a more narrow feild so he can compare each against the other and let his eyes decided.

Also to the OP if you plan on playing long range, swaro has a free phone app, were you can save difference loads, and change environmental conditions. Very handy

Right now I'm farther away from a scope than before. Now I'm thinking I might go with the Zeiss Conquest 4.5-15x50 and use the 7-08 for deer and build a 6BR for long range shooting.
I've always liked shooting my rifles but now I got an itch for long range. Still learning what everything is all about.
