Scope recommendation

I'm looking for a scope for a 7-08. Will be used for deer hunting out to 200 and paper out to 600. I wear contacts with astigmatism so things get a little fuzzy at times. Price range up to $1,600.00.

Nikon Buckmaster or Pro Staff is all we use anymore. We took of the Leupolds and put on Nikons because they are clearer and allow in more light

For 1600 I dont even know what scope I'd buy, to me thats alot of coin to spend on glass. But it will get you into the smaller big boys I've never been able to own or even brought myself to look through.

But Based upon Reputation alone I'd start my search with Leica, Nightforce, Schmidt & Bender, Swarovski, US Optics, and Zeiss.

Zeiss, Leupold and Nightforce all make fine scopes in that price range. You can't go wrong with any of them. I like that Leupold offers custom turrets once you develop your load (for a nominal fee, of course), pretty slick.

Pony up some more for Schmidt&Bender, US Optic and Swarovski (basically double your budget to start with one of these)

I just bought a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x50 with target turrets from cameralandny.com for $549 total shipped to me. I can see a reason to not buy one!

I put a swarovski z5 3.5 to 18 on my cooper 7-08. If I was to do over I would go with the 2.5 to 15 in the z5 still

That will get you a nice Leupold Mark 4 or into the Night Force scopes for sure. I own a Zeiss 6.5x20x50 and for the $700 price range that is a nice piece of glass. But Love the Mark 4s. I don't own any Night Force but that is my next buy.
