    Precision Stock Opinions

I've got a Rem. M700 AAC-SD in .308. I've nearly got the gun set up how I want it, but the original overmolded Hogue stock has to go. It has entirely too much flex in the fore end to accurately shoot off a bipod. I' really like to looks and function of the McMillan's and Manner's stocks, just not the $$$. I've been thinking of going more along the lines of a Bell & Carlson Tac/Medalist 5 or HS Precision.
Do any of you have any experience with these slightly cheaper stocks, or any input at all would be appreciated.

HS and B&C stocks can be purchased for $200 ~ 250 , I'd recommend having the action skim-bedded

fondle one before you buy as it has to feel comfortable to you . Nothing worse than spending hard earned $$$$ on a stock that you can't get use to

Also check out the Choate Tactical. Styled similar to Mcmillan stocks, full length aluminum pillar bedded, and no flex. I have one and they are a great deal for the price. $219.99 last time I looked.

I've looked at Stocky's before... However, I haven't heard many good things on their customer service and deliver times.

                    Another vote for McMillan

Check ebay and/or gunbroker for some. Sometimes you get a good deal

choates are too heavy. I would hold one 1st to make sure your ok with it. McMilan would be my vote if you got the $ to spend on one.

I ordered a B&C tactical medalist 5 from stocky's for my 700. The customer service was great. The deliver time isn't cause they aren't sending the product to you. Its because they only get so many from B&C a week. And if your model/color (OD Green) is a popular one, then your in a line. They originally told me it would six weeks until mine would ship. I called every other week and the lady was very nice and would tell me how many people were ahead of me. It ended up taking four weeks. I also called B&C directly and they told me to call stockys because stockys orders so many that they're always first in their line.

                              X2 on what Blake said.
Bell and Carlson and HS look similar but have a total different feel. A good source for both of those is Red Hawk Rifles in Colorado. Bought a lot from them.
