As always Blake is spot on. Bedding the action is the best way to maintain consistency in your stock.

Also, if you haven't tried handling some of the stocks you definitely need to do so. There are so many variations to the drop of the grip, palm swell vs no palm swell which will matter of you're a lefty, width of the forearms, cheek weld, etc....

I personally like McMillan stocks as they can be completely customized to your liking and they are stiff enough to not need a bedding block.

I prefer Manners over McM ; I think the fit and finish is superior . McM QC has dropped off over last few yrs

I've been wanting to get my hands on some to feel them, just don't know where I can go to do it.

How about a $100 saddle on a $50 horse? Go with a KMW Sentinel.

I've had great luck with their customer service. Multiple stocks over many years. Everytime I've called I got to talk to a very knowledgeable and helpful person. All emails are responded to...

I would recommend them in a heart beat.

As far as the Tupperware stocks I will leave the recommendations to the plastic pros. I've heard some stuff about them but never owned one.

This man knows his rifles. You would be wise to listen. Manners has a new BDL mini chassis that makes a 700 swap out ridiculously easy. Got one on order as we speak.

I spoke with Terry 2 weeks ago

his new and improved stock is still in R&D and no definite date when it will be released and orders taken

Could easily be 2 yrs out and price close to $1500

Terry's work and custom rifles are some of the best on the planet hence the price and long delivery times

That's right. His stocks are first dedicated to his builds, which are mostly for institutional customers, and he is always making improvements. When a used stock comes up for sale someplace it's sucked up in minutes. Great guy and superb rifle smith!

Can't go wrong with a Manners. I prefer the T2.

I prefer manners as well. They are well worth the money and the wait.

aac- give me some specs on that rifle, I really like it.

I had an accuracy international stock on a rem 700 in 300 win mag. It kicked like a .223. But they are not cheap.

The top rifle is a 6.5x47 Lapua built by LSR. It has an 18" Rock Barrel, Manners T2 with mini chassi, Badger 20 MOA base, and a Steiner 3-12x50 Military sitting in Seekins low 34 mm rings. Bottom rifle is a Remington 700P in 308, Manners T2 with Badger bottom metal, topped off with a HDMR with the G2 reticle. Both shoot well.
