I once let a youngster shoot my Ruger semi-auto pistol, and after the first shot, he turned around ( waving a loaded gun in the process ) with his finger still in the trigger guard. I was close, and got his hand pointed safely down range, but it was a scary couple seconds. With a single shot, or better yet, a bolt action repeater than can be single-loaded, when the shot is fired, the gun is safe. Besides that, it teaches that the first shot is the only one that's likely to count. There's plenty of time later for the fun of a semi-auto when the basics of gun safety are instilled in his routine. The single shot you bought him, if it's a quality gun, will be used to teach his kids to shoot.

I bought my youngest a CZ bolt action repeater. Very accurate with a good trigger. That's important to me, as I wanted to make it easy for him to hit his target, otherwise, it's no fun. He still has that gun, plus a S&W M&P 15, and he is almost twenty. My two cents.
      10-4

I spent a lot more time thinking about this since 2013 when I suggested a 10/22. My son got a single shot 22 for his first rifle last year.

I actually went big for my daughter's first rifle. She's 10 and I got her a handi rifle in .223. Now that being said, she has yet to shoot it, she's shot my 10-22 several times and we are going to start working up to the .223.

I'll put the pics here as well.

It is slick looking with the pattern he chose.

Its "loud" lol as only a kid would want.

          Here is a teaser...

Love it, I got the same gun just recently and finishing it up here soon. Matching it (sorta) to my sons gun.

I bought my daughter a 10/22 the xmas after she turned 10. Ive kept the tradition going by buying my oldest nephew a 10/22 last year when he turned 10 and Ill be buying another for his younger brother this Spring.

I have a hoodie in the same above and my Yeti30 dipped in it.

Might just have to put them all together for a matching theme picture.

                    Its my favorite camo!

Who ever did that, did a good job, they used the proper method to roll the pattern on.

Yea, found a local guy here and I'm very happy with it. He did self etching primer, then a base coat of pink, then rolled it in the hydrographic, then shot it with clear.

Yep, same way I do or I should say DID it... lol

I still have all my stuff but just no real time with my new job to keep it going.

I should dip all the stuff I want to do for myself and then sale it.

Yea, I was hoping to get you to do that for the wife but saw on your webpage you weren't taking on any new projects.

^^^THIS!! I got a Ruger 10/22 when I was 6 and now 16 years later, I still go out with it and the 25 rd banana clip and still have a ball. Many varmints, snakes, pigs etc have fallen to it.
