Cheap but great quailty and a iffy trigger upgrade..M&P 9c
Moderate cost with a heavy trigger ...Sig Sauer P226
Costly with a middle of the road trigger..H&K P30

It is just me and these are the only ones that I would own of use, call me a snob..
My sigma 9mm and taurus9mm will hang with those boys all day long!

Are you talking about the v3 p30 or the v2?

Apex trigger in the M&P will set you back but it is worth it.
I tried an M&P with the Apex and without side by side and I wasn't impressed. I liked my XD Tactical trigger better. The PPQ has a better trigger than either.

Tommy the last time I pulled a trigger on the H&K there was not a "version" yet...

When the new models were first released I bought two P30's and a HK45...

Never had a chance to shoot one with the factory trigger options.

I'm leanin really hard towards a glock 17 or 19. Maybe even a 1911 in 9mm. Definitely not wanting a compact full size only. Suggestions?
Lots of people saying Glock 19 but per your post you say no compact, full size only.

I'm personally not a Glock fan but they are very reliable in the 9mm's so the Glock 17 would be your full size version.

                    STI makes a nice 9mm 1911.

Do you plan to carry it for defense? If so, then consider which one you can train with to get used to. Single action guns like the 1911 that you would carry cocked and locked take more training to be instinctual in a pressure situation.

Glock, M&P, Kahr, Sig, etc. So many good ones to choose from that you should try to shoot some of them first and decide.

Finally. If you don't want a polymer gun, you can't go wrong with the choice of the navy seals, the Sig 226 in 9mm. Love mine.
I shot the Glock 17, Beretta 92whatever, the 226. Went with the 226.

I've my Glock 21 and 23 for 18 years with no problems. Carried a issue 17 and personal 19 when I worked police. Love Glocks, have 4 and would like to have more, like a 10mm. Go with the 19 it is great for carrying and shots great. Google PSR37 and checkout the range and any videos. The guy that owns it, Frank, is a retired SF Sergent Major and him and his brother shoot Glocks. Frank was shooting a 19.
