I love me some Glock. I have had a model 22 for years, and it stood up to lots of abuse. I believe in the product.

For shooting pleasure though, the M9A1 is a dream. My brother has one, and it is just a ton of fun to shoot. Really smooth, accurate, and feels good in hand. I will be buying one.

Glock 17. Epack already said what I wanted to. Unstoppable. It will eat anything I put in it. Over a thousand rounds so far and the only issue was when my wife limp wristed it shooting it for the first time.

STI Ranger in 9mm- cost you about the same as a Glock. Texas made and one of the finest fireamrs I've ever owned. They have a full line of 1911 styles. Check them out. Plus they are a sponsor of ours.

I have or had the XDm and various Glocks. They are OK, but neither have good trigger. In a self defense it wouldn't matter, but shooting a skunk at 20 yards it is HUGE. I'm not sure who has a great trigger outside of custom guns, but the 1911 has the better trigger. I looked at several aftermarkets for my XDm and they all said about 1/2 the creep and 1/2 the weight, but even that is not that good. They have A LOT of creep! 1911 get my vote.

Check out the Walther PPQ before you buy anything else. It has the best ergonomics and, by far, the best trigger of any similar pistol.

Can't say anything bad about a Glock, just don't like they way they feel in my hand. I bought a M&P this past spring and love it. But I would take my Sig P226 over the M&P every time.

There should be at least one Glock in every household.
