      A) running a torch over it to give it some character.
      B) painting it with some left over bed liner.

These will both be temporary "fixes", I could do option A and if it doesn't work out hit it with option B.
I vote A, not to long ago there was a guy that did this to something and it turned out awesome, can't remember if it was a knife handle or gun stock.

now it is just a waiting game, the only thing i don't like about alumahyde so far is the drying time...i want to put it back together! I am hoping to make it to the gun range in two weeks and will see how the barrel shoots.

I like your order on stock options while waitin for the permanent one to come in. Hit in with the torch. If ya don't like it, bed liner

Ok torching is completed. It started off good but not sure how it ended.? I'm not really feeling it but it may grow on me and I will see how it looks after I get it back together.

I want to see it together. If the metal was going to black then I think it would be great. I may go hold it up beside the barrel and action....but that's all the way in the barn and I'm in my recliner, maybe tomorrow.

so i was pretty set on putting a scout mount on this rifle but XS is the only one made and you have to epoxy it to the barrel. The more i think about it the less appealing it sounds. What is y'alls thought on this?

if i mount a scope above the reciever it is going to be a 1x4 class of scope.

Well I got her put back together. I am really happy with the way it came out, it feels a whole lot better in my hand. I am going to wait on the scope and mount for awhile until I figure out what I really want. While I had it apart I polished the trigger and it made a huge difference, the first stage is now very obvious and the second stage is on the heavy side but very crisp. Give me your input and opinions.

I like it. Told you that torch job would look different when it had a clear coat on it and was put back together.
