I keep seeing either a required sign off or a notification, which is it ?
I believe the notification was sent with my last one... Voluntary. Id hope that's still what it is... Even though i know our chief personally, i don't think he gets to decide what is best for me to own.
This could end badly for gun owners... And if they **** enough of us off it could end badly for them...
On second thought (probably won't ever happen though) the thread on here the other day about seceeding, sure are alot of good folks right here in it own gun toting group that don't have the fortitude to stands up for their rights... A whole lot of no's in that thread based upon being scared of either breaking the law, death or losing.
I can see all the gang bangers and ghetto rappers rushing to free law services at taxpayer cost to set up NFA paperwork prior to the ban. That is how the criminals buy and get their guns, isn't it?
If they require a LEO signature, will the require LEOs to sign them for law abiding citizens?
There are plenty of places were the LEO wont sign no matter what. What do you do in that situation?
That is EXACTLY what the ATF is banking on. "Hey, we don't have a problem with you owning a NFA weapon, but we can't help what your CLEO does. Sorry."
Even though the rule changes have yet to be approved, I've written both Senators, my Congressman and Gov. Perry. Why Gov. Perry? I've asked him to issue his own executive order directing Steven McCraw, Director of Texas Department of Public Safety to approve all CLEO request from any individual who is not otherwise permitted from owning a NFA item.
The ATF's proposed rule change says the CLEO can be: head of state police, chief of local police, sheriff, district attorney etc.
Our gun ownership rights aren't just at the federal level.
