Scopes I really have no personal experience with but I assume its like they're binos and RF's. Meh...

Vortex binos have an excellent reputation amongst hunters and birdwatchers alike and are consistently rated near the top of the list in independent reviews when compared to other binoculars in the same price range. Binos are where Vortex got their start, and they do them exceptionally well. I would not be surprised if their rangefinder has room for improvement. They offer one model and it's their first attempt at it. I would pass on it for that reason.

I've got a 4-12x40 Vari-X II on my 300 Wby and it does great. Not as new or hi-tech as a lot of scopes these days, but I have total confidence in it.
