Yes, sorry I wasn't clear. On the TV they were saying his college criminal justice classes taught him what to say to the police to get away with shooting him. In the Campfire section of this website I've read where people have said the trained professional part. So either way you can't win with them. Thank God he didn't shoot IDPA or 3 gun.

Life is full of choices. Some, we make the right call, other times, we don't. The truth of the matter is you will never know what you will do in any given situation, especially one involving a firearm! I speak from experience in this. When I was in the Service I was, like all others, trained to kill. When I was put in that situation, I did. I always "knew" I would go in, kick butt and go on like nothing ever happened. Well, it wasn't like that for me. Minutes after I pulled the trigger and everything calmed down I went to look at the boy and it made me sick. I mean I began to puke.
Six years ago I was an unwilling, unknowing (in the beginning) participant in an attempted armed home invasion. It was my house and two punk kids like the one here tried to force their way into my home. I was not armed at the time and it taught me a valuable lesson that I will NEVER forget. Now, I am always armed or have at minimum of one firearm within reach. I went through 2 years of trials that I could have saved the tax payers from having to pay and I could have put two low life’s in the ground. Instead, one got 67 years, the other (his mom had connections with the NAACP that covered his Att costs) made a deal and only got 10 years and he was the one with the gun!
To me, my life and my family’s life is too precious to not be prepared. I will never go looking for a fight but if I am ever in that situation again I pray to God, I don't make the same mistake twice...

Also, something everyone that chooses to either carry a gun or have a gun in the home for self defense should look at is some sort of preemptive legal protection in case of a self defense shooting. There are tons of companies out there that you pay a small monthly fee to and they will represent you if the unthinkable ever happened. If you don't decide to do that, at least do some research and maybe talk to a lawyer and have some sort of plan in place so if it ever happened you wouldn't be giving up everything you own to stay out of jail.
Texas Law shield is what my CHL instructor recommended but I have no personal opinion of them.

1. Everyone in the media are cowards. They act like 95% of the people believe Z is guilty. Cowards because none have the balls to speak the truth or stand up for what's right.
2. All media has an agenda.
3. Shoot to kill.
4. Don't be racist. IMO if they could have proved Z posted or surfed racist websites(using loose terms) or was racist in any way IMO he would be in prison even though that should have ZERO bearing on guilt in this case.

I emailed her saying that I am not looking for criminal attorney because I'm not criminal but to get a retaining attorney for something like this to ever happen. She said she does this and we will meet up some time soon. She's also a CHL holder.
To answer OP post. We need NAACP out of business! Stop politicking in judicial system. Stop with race card bs.
Where's black on white crime being sensation? None. They're afraid to be called racist. Truth be told. Whites are now minorities among black. Black is not minority anymore. So isn't Mexicans. We should be crying racist! Lol

I think there is more to it than the shooter is telling. He is trying to stay out of trouble, which is understandable, but he put himself into a situation he didn't need to. He may not be criminally guilty but he is probably has civil liability in the case. I have a CHL but that doesn't make me an LEO. Unless someones life or safety is in serious jeopardy using my weapon is probably a questionable choice at best.

God forbid I ever shoot someone, I feel like a prosecutor would use the fact that i bought "insurance" for that against me.
Now getting a lawyer on retainer. probably not a bad idea. But not a lawyer only if i shoot someone

I hope to never use it against anybody even to my worse enemy. I think if both would have walked away and Trayvon stayed inside when he went home first time. Things would have been different. Like someone said, once the bullet leaves the gun, you can't take that back.
I will talk to Amber and go from there. Maybe just better to have a retaining attorney in case.
