Yep. Everything is paid up front. Cost of SBR or suppressor, then $200 for each stamp, then 6-8 month wait.

I bought my suppressor last year. Made up some subsonic rounds for my friends .308 to use on his might vision. Shot a hog at about 100 yards. With a 175 grain. SMK @about 1100 fps (no recovery) but will Try again tonight. Bullet is nearly Hollywood quiet at those speeds, you can easily hear bullet slap.

Only issue is added weight to the end of the barrel. But if you spend some more cash and Getty a titanium one that would be the way to go.

Even if you don't use subsonic rounds it is noticeably quieter and easier to control recoil for follow up shots, your grouping will also improve. if you are using night vision it reduces the muzzle flash so your NV doesn't white or and have to recover.

              Suppressor was $800
Flash adapter for quick release was $100
              Tax for BATFE was $200

              Wait time was 9 months

All money is paid up front too the government and the seller.
You have to pay for the item up front ago you can get the serial number to adds to your form 4

                Or more
Firearms Trust $350 -$500 depending on attorney.
Suppressor. $550-$1400 depending on manufacture and style
                ATF Tax stamp $200
                Some places charge transfer fees
                Then sales tax.
I have two, waiting on paper work on one more that is filed and fixing to get one more.

It's a ridiculously expensive and long wait time hobby.

There is no reason a tax stamp for a suppressor or SBR should be $200. Should be $5 like an AOW stamp.

It has been $200 since the NFA act was affirmed back in the 1930's. Just a little perspective on what it used to cost vs. what it would cost had inflation been added.

I see nothing but pro's as well, but I also already own one like others on here... I've taken axis and quite a few hogs with mine. Fixing to start my 5yr old step-daughter on a 22 with subsonics/suppressed, then bump up to the subsonic only .308 that is almost completed so she can try to take her first hog.

The main reason I do not own one is because its just easier for me and cheaper to use ear plugs and its more convenient for me.

Can't argue the cheaper point but wearing earplugs or earmuffs all the time sucks.
