Looking to replace the triggers on both of my AR's with Geissele triggers. My question is single stage or double stage and why? Not looking to do any long range shooting with these so thats something to consider.

For SD and plinking no need to go any lighter than the SSA, it's light and crisp enough.
For rifles you plan to do a little more precision shooting with especially at longer distances (like 200+) then the enhanced versions will help.
I really like the feel of the flat trigger of the SD-E, I have this one on my 308.
On any of the Geissele triggers there's no guessing of when the first stage ends and the second stage begins. There's a definite "wall" between the two.

I'm in the same boat as Chad and to be honest if you aren't going to spend a lot of time at the range and really work on your trigger control you won't know the different between the triggers.
Geissele also offers their standard 2 stage trigger for $165. http://geissele.com/geissele2stage-2.aspx Everything you get with the SSA but less money.

The "ACT" trigger does everything I need and the feel is excellent. They're tuned by Geissele.
$65

No grit, no play and they are crisp! Maybe they're not worth it, but there is a niche for this type of trigger and that's why Gieselle started the company.
I like them. I guess that's all that matters.
