Four Republicans voted for the amendment, but five Democrats voted against it. One of those Democrats was Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid -- who only switched his vote to oppose it because doing so allows Democrats to call up the measure again.

What am I to take of this...if reid voted the other way, this would be a dead bill??

Not sure on what that means, but I do know they are given one opportunity to change their vote before it is officially recorded and final. Unless there is some Majority Leader redux clause I'm not aware of I don't know what that means. There will be more detractors once we flood the republicans that voted aye on these.

I am not trying to start anything, especially an argument. Bu it is odd that a former conservative presidential candidate is now considered an enemy by some.

And you have no idea where I stand on this. A little research might clear it up, but I am not for any additional gun legislation.
