6.5-284 140 grain Berger VLD hunting (3100 fps) - shots from 40 yards to 450 + yards all DRT.
.308 Win 168 grain VLD hunting (2650 fps) - shots from 125-400+ yards - DRT
257 Weatherby 115 grain VLD hunting (3500 fps) - 35 - 380 yards DRT
All of these kills had complete pass throughs.
I have not stretched the Barnes bullets out to those distances but I have had great luck with them out to 200+ yards.

I agree with you.
I have shot Berger VLDs from three rifles:
270 - 130 gr
6.5 Creedmoor - 130 gr
257 Weatherby - 115 gr
I have shot pigs with all three, and an axis with the 6.5. My results have been great on all animals. The only ones that have not exited were shoulder shots on bigger pigs. Only the axis moved after being hit, she made it 20 yards.

I just assumed by the design and the huge hydrostatic shock that these are known for that they would likely come apart or at least stay in the animal.
Your experiences make me even more exited about trying these on game.

So does anybody shoot Remington premier ammo? I switched to it this year but have not shot anything with it yet. I was shooting winchester ballistic silver tips but they when they changed the box they come in I Changed scope and now my gun does not group as well. It's probably the scope but I switched to the Remington gold and green box and my groups got better. I never hear anyone recommend these bullets and was wondering why?Last edited by Black Ice; 04-02-2013, 06:34 AM.

thanks for the input fellas..i understand the benefits of not passing thru and retaining all the energy in the critter..its just the ones that arent DRT leave NO bloodtrail and that makes for a happy cold trailing mutt i own.
what blows my mind is my sons 243 with 100gr corelokts goes right thru but the 270 doesnt???
on a side note, this easter weekend i was at the ranch and expiermented with a few boxes of 150 gr corelokts and they seemed to hit a little harder and are still accurate as heck..
i also unsheathed my old FN browning 375, in case i wanna shoot a cow and get pass thru

My problem with the Barnes TTSX was screaming pass thru's and not alot of shock. I had a stinkin black buck doe run 75+ yards on a double lung shot. Thought i had missed her till she gave a little stumble, stopped, did a square dance, imitated climbing and imaginary ladder and tipped over.
