Just a quick update. I got my first shipment of Photons in off back order today from Sightmark and I've got to say I'm shocked how nice these things are! I had only handled them in daylight conditions at the SHOT Show but the night capabilities are really surprising to me. Much better than I expected, even after watching some video reviews.
I have not compared them side by side yet and I don't want to stick my foot in my mouth but from what I've seen so far, the quality of the Photon might rival the Pulsar N750. I know....blasphemy, but man this Photon is better than I thought it would be and I had high expectations. When I get a chance I'm going to compare it side by side to the N750 and I'll report back.Comment

So I went back outside with my AR....in my camo house shoes and flannel sleeping pants and checked it out again. Yep it's that good.lolComment

I've look through Gen 3 and it's not the same clarity or as cool but it works. I feel comfortable 125 yards which is all I need to hunt hogs at night.Comment

Hey guys, just an update on the Sightmark Photons. My last order of Photons were all sold before they arrived. I've got another back order placed for more and several are already sold to TBH'ers. If you want one, please let me know ASAP so I can put your name on one.
My Sightmark rep says the number of orders for the Photons is insane. They are predicting it will be June or July before they are able to keep them in stock in their warehouse. Right now every single one they get in is pre-sold. They get bulk shipments in once a month and so far they are sold out for the next several months.
I managed to get my hands on one extra 5x Photon and it's available right now if someone is interested. I also have a extra Sightmark Night Raider Gen 1 2.5x50 on hand and ready to ship if someone wants it.

The 5x was discontinued several months ago and Sightmark said a good while back that they didn't know of a single, new in the box 5x left on the shelf of authorized dealer. One other thing to point out concerning the doubler is this...... UNV makes the 1.7x doubler for the Photon 3.5x and they do not suggest using the doubler without extra IR illumination. The doubler slightly reduces the light gathering capabilities of the Photon and the doubler just doesn't provide it's full benefit without some extra illumination. Sightmark offers several illuminators but by far the most popular and one of the brightest is the UNV 20IR. I just like to warn customers before they make a purchase so they aren't disappointed.
And to be clear, the Photon is great by itself with no add-ons. They make it even better, but for 100-125 yards or less, the Photon is great right out of the box.
