I bought my wife a 257 Roy and it wears a VxIII 4.5x14x40. Sweet shooting setup. It shoots the HSM ammo loaded with 115 bergers around 1/2" and before the ammo scare you could buy them for about 59.00 a box at able amm. I think their price has increased in the last month but the weatherby ammo with quality bullets is around 90.00 a box.

            Mine wears a 4-12x50 Kahles Heila C
Its crazy you get one and work up a pet load for it. Then you think about another bullet you would like to try and you build a gun around that load. Then you before you know it you have several of them.

Thats crazy how expensive they are. Figure I may need to look into reloading. Ive never even considered reloading before purchasing this rifle. My $40 a box 100 grain Weatherby Spitzers are gonna have to do for now. Im just anxious to shoot it to be honest. Hopefully next weekend.

Most people don't shoot enough to gripe about ammo cost. If you buy a rifle without checking ammo cost, then shame on you.

This is true. I figure 2 boxes will last me atleast two years. Haha, about the only time I shoot my rifles are to site them in and hunting.

Just dont go to a tank shooting turtles or go crow hunting with it and you'll be fine. I hear both are an absolute blast

Yep, that is the case with most folks.

For me, I have ammo that I bought 3-4 years ago that I still have not used all of it.

Ammo cost for the most part doesn't factor into my purchase of a gun, which is a good thing because I have several odd calibers.

Those are my favorite type of calibers!
