Side by side shotgun cocked and locked stuck down my right pants leg, because that's all the dumb dems think I need.

It's hard to walk with it, although... The ladies have really been giving me the eye.

      Nice one coach W!

Of course I have a round in the chamber.

Oh and it is a gun. A really big one with really big bullets that make noise fire and smoke.

LC9, ready with one in the pipe, thumb safety on, flick off while drawing.

I carry unloaded. I only want to scare people or show off Id never hurt someone. In the day we live in, with police officers on ever corner, and our hard working government passing strickter gun law aimed at crimnals I feel safe enuff to carry empty. Its a lot safer

Yes, because I like my Glock to be loaded.

Hot all the time. Doesn't matter whether it's the Glock, Ruger or Taurus. And when I run out of bullets it'll become a club...

1911 cocked and locked. We all know it takes less than a second to rack the slide back right after the draw, but time isn't the only variable. What happens if you miss your grip on the slide, your hands are slippery, or you don't get a good complete cycle with you rack the slide and the slide just rides back over the top round in the mag? That's all in addition to the fact that one in the pipe is just one more round of carrying capacity. Also, consider the potential that if you're in a fight for you life, your off hand may be unavailable to you. Maybe the perp has a hold of it, maybe you're using it to block his advance while you draw, maybe you're pinned against a wall and can't get the second hand around to rack the slide....if you've got on in the pipe, it's draw, defeat the safety (if so equipped), point and squeeze.

Because an unloaded gun will get you killed

I'm in the minority. Especially since most carry guns don't have a safety, I'm of the opinion that it's more dangerous to carry hot. I'm not keeping a loaded gun pointed at my goods all day every day. If you practice and know what you're doing, it takes one second to rack the slide and draw. These "club" comments are rather ridiculous. Now if I have to be in a sketchy neighborhood, the gun will be hot. But day to day? No. You can't have an accident with an empty chamber, and a gun that's otherwise ready to go is infinitely better than no gun at all. (or a club)

I either carry a 1911 cocked and locked, or a S&W J-frame with all cylinders loaded. In all my years of carrying I have not had an issue.

So when the bad guy grabs your off hand or you get shot at the outset and get a wound or injury in either hand or arm, how are going to rack it in less than a second?

I practice and can draw with either hand from concealed or holstered on duty from a locked holster with either hand. As long as I have one hand, I can draw a hot weapon and protect myself.

If you are worried about shooting yourself with a concealed and holstered weapon then it is probably a good thing that you don't carry hot. Hopefully you will never need to find out how good you are or that if it ever happens, it is a best case scenario and you have both hands available because if it isn't, all you will have is that club.
