Close the thread...if you try hard, you may be able to get a 6920 in the $1500 range today if you are an instant gratification guy. That is about $500 over pre-panic prices.
Daniel defense makes a good m4 too...there are millions on the market. Shop it...

Take a peek at www.gunsinternational.com. It is a "classified ad" page. As opposed to the Gunsamerica- auction page. You will find the same gun I bought for 1200 listed there for 2200. All of them are OVERPRICED... DPMS, Bushmaster, COLT(especially colt), Sig, Rock River, Para-USA... etc.
However, if you really want one, you can find one there.. there are MANY to choose from.

I have never seen an "assault rifle", much less in a store for sale.

Find a dealer or someone with a federal firearms license FFL. They might be willing to help. Notice I said "might".
                    Otherwise, wait.
Some auction sites are getting double the pre-December prices.

If you look around there are reasonable deals to be had. One of my partners just picked up a very high end custom AR for about 2K. Probably cost 1600 before December.

Anything really brand name or trendy, and you'll be hosed. I'm wanting the new Steyr AUG and they were 2K before.. now 4K to 8K. Not happening.

If you need any help looking, let me know as we do have access to a pretty extensive private party network.

Side note, most dealers are no longer really dealers. They are getting in stock, selling immediately to themselves or a friend and private partying the rifles because of the values.

And if you're worried about ammo, I posted in the "In Stock" thread about a source thats in stock and available. Just a member of ours who's selling and shipping immediately.

I'm not very familiar with the process but I do know there is a process. A regular semi automatic AR (which doesn't stand for "Assault Rifle") is perfectly legal to own. Finding one in the craze of everyone wanting them banned might be a chore unless your willing to pay $2000 for an $800 gun.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
AR was first coined by the ArmaLite co. In the 50's. colt now owns the trademark name for the AR-15 name.

Yeah. The media conveniently make it stand for Assault Rifle when in fact it's just the AR from ARmalite. Pitiful.

I wouldn't just blame the media...our fellow shooters have helped a lot as well. It's the same with mag & clip.

                            Humper out!

I heard that! I used to calm em clips too, when I was 10! That vocabulary is hard to change in someone that's called them clips for 40yrs. One at a time I guess!

One of the key parts of an Assualt Rifle is selectable fire. ie: full auto/semi auto, burst/semi...
AR-15, AK-47, etc... don't fall under that definition. Just a semi auto rifle. Nothing more, nothing less...
