    Accuracy of the 7.62x39 round?

I just saw an ad on gun broker for a CZ 600 Alpha, I believe, in the 7.62 x 39 round. Thats a good rifle. It’s a good price but I’m curious how accurate is the round itself?

Just like anything else, building a load that the gun likes will yield good results.

I think the round gets a bad reputation because of the guns it’s typically chambered in and the absolute crap surplus ammo that usually gets shot.

I wouldn't know, I've only ran wolf through AKs. I would think good name brand ammo would be plenty accurate or reloaded would for sure.

Go poke around on the internet, good ammo ain't cheap.

Yeah, Buds had these dropped in price too recently. Strange.

I shoot an AR-47 suppressed for thermal hunting. It is surprisingly accurate past 200 yards. I am shooting ammo from Palmetto State called the AAC saber blade. It's the perfect combination of cheap, quiet, and accurate.

I have one in a Ruger that shoots bug holes even with cheap ammo.

ballistically about same as 30-30 if I remember correctly but 30-30 has heavier bullet. Going by memory on that one but been awhile

ahhh.. the ol 7.62x39 debate ... ok. first : it's .311 bullets not to confuse with .308 us caliber ... with that said some manufacturers use .308 barrels for their build which squeezes and raise pressure some leading to poor accuracy .. with that said a buddy of mine just gave me a box of .311 subsonic expandable hornady bullets and i'm going to shoot them in a 300blk .308 bore ... they may shoot, they may not .. if you buy ammo the russian stuff is a hit/miss some ak's or sks like my buddy like 154's and shoot them surprisingly accurate some like lighter ones , some shoot one brand good and another of the same weight bad ... if you reload , you're golden. Just roll your own till you get satisfactory results .. not familiar with your bolt gun , but I bought a howa and it shoots wolk HP (think they are 123's???) just about 1.25 to 1.5" at 100 ... all said , i've never had a cz that shot bad ... it probably will shoot more accurate than most people are capable ... at the price you listed , unless there is a major design flaw like magazine that don't feed kinda problem , it look like a deal !

I have a Ruger American Ranch chambered in 7.62x39 and it's one of the most accurate guns that I hunt with. I'm shooting 123gr soft points from Prvi Partizan (PPU) ammo that I got online for around $15/box and I've killed about 5 deer with it just fine. It has virtually no recoil so I'd bet it's a great round for kids to learn with too.

I have a Radical Firearms AR in 7.62x39 and it shoots better than me with a Holosun red dot. Good 100 yards and under pig gun. Haven’t stretched it farther than that.

I just put together a 10.5 Upper. It’ll shoot cheap wolf 123 HP into about 1.5” at 100 yards.

Now if I could just get it to run reliably, I’d be in action.

When I got my Bushmaster AR 15 many years ago it had "recommended ammo" and surprisingly Wolf was named as one and this was quite a few years ago, it's 5.56/.223 and ran lot's of it through it and M1A in .308
