    How to sell guns?

My uncle mentioned selling his collection of maybe 40 guns. He rambled a long freaking time talking about each one. I love guns but am not a gun nut.
Do we have any one here on TBH that buys entire collections?
Should he just take a picture, write a description, and have a minimum price in his head(or give to me)?
How does one find the value of a gun that's not standard off the shelf?

He's in the Temple area. Guns are not for sale yet. I may have to sell them for him sooner or later.

Contact Artos or maybe Kae006, I think he contacted me about buying my collection, haven't figured out how to find my old messages yet.

I would be interested but would need photos, descriptions, and a list of all guns in the collection to put a price to it.

I don't want to waste everyone's time. What do you guys usually offer on a collection. If the "value" of these guns adds up to 30k do you offer 27, 25, 20k less? Of course it depends on several things but in general like figuring out the values etc.. Trying to see if I should even try to sell as a collection or just sell individually. I won't be giving away his guns. If I was to do that I'd take them myself LOL

A lot of what you are asking about will depend on what brand and models of guns your uncle has, as well as the condition. Hang out on Gunbroker and watch what some similar models he owns sells for on there, you can at least get an idea of the market value.

This is what I would do as well, find out what each one is selling for ballpark on Gunbroker or Texas Gun Trader and look at the condition of them vs the ones your uncle has, that way you have a better idea of the value before selling.

I can do this. But the question remains.. After I do this and get an idea of what the entire collection is worth, what should I expect if I sell the entire lot? 10%, 20% off the total?

I have a buddy here in New Braunfels that buys collections like this all the time. If he wants the most value out of them, then he (or you) need to sell these one at a time. If he wants a quick transaction without a lot of hassle, then the price will be some discounted value in my experience.

20% or so, if you just want to be rid of them and do no leg work. People will wear you out with low ball offers, just be prepared.

I know. This is what I'm trying to avoid.
I'll try to get his list and then what he thinks they're worth. Then see if any offers come close.

                      Thanks guys.

Post them as one or separately. Either way there will be interest. Are you talking about 25, 50 or 100’s.

Individually will bring the most money. Allowing individuals to build a “lot” and make offer could work out too if you wanted to mess with that.

Talked with my friend who buys bulk guns like this. He discounts 20% for bulk purchases.
